Coming into the cool season…

Here in So-Cal things are cooling down…

The leaves are turning, and we are preparing for another cycle of gardening.

Remember our little pomegranate tree?

It grew!

And the Peach that we thought was dead?

So much for that!

We have had to do some pruning…

But thanks to my M-O-L it got easier!

We trimmed our mock cherries…

But it took a few hours to chip them…

But we now have 3 compost piles in varying degrees of the process.

Thanks to the BBC I have to keep an eye on The Pup in the back yard, but then there is the middle yard…

The soil is looking really good!

We went to Flowerdales workshop on heirloom veggie growing yesterday and brought some home…

We picked up packs of onions, lettuce, Brussels sprouts and spinach.

And a pack of seeds for leeks…

Yeah, they are the six-pack in the jungle we call the greenhouse!

We weeded today too, but that doesn’t make for good photos, so I will leave you with todays rose…

Julia I was amazed that lettuce was an option, but Pups parents are growing some in their greenhouse up by Yosemite. BTW How are you doing?

Jacki, be brave look at lots of books draw your garden on graph paper and then re-draw it the way you want it to be. You’ve been there almost a year so you know where it collects water etc remember to calculate that into your garden plan, and if all else fails put in a spiral garden.
